Hi everyone, my name is Pete Tomkies and I am producing a feature film called Secrets Of A Wallaby Boy for Weird Rainbow Films. We are going to be filming it in Manchester, UK, later this year.
It’s a modern, queer update of the Confessions-style comedies, and we have a great cast including Laurence R Harvey & Mark Benton. We have also just signed up the Sixth Doctor Who himself, Colin Baker, to be the voice of Bruce, the animated mascot of the Wallaby Inc courier company.
We also have Brandon McCaffrey as the lead role of Tim Coaster and Billie Hindle as Tim's flatmate Jade. Billie is passionate about trans representation in film and very excited to play Jade.
Secrets Of A Wallaby Boy casts a satirical eye over the gig economy but never takes itself too seriously and is a lot of fun.
We already have a good chunk of our budget already in place but we are now running a funding campaign on Greenlit to make the film even better. You can find out more about the film at:https://greenlit.com/project/secrets-wallaby-boy
We are a completely independent production so any help you can offer by picking up one of our rewards or helping to raise awareness by sharing the link to our Greenlit campaign would be hugely appreciated.
We would love you to join us as part of #TeamWallaby!
Thanks
Pete
Thank you for your kind comments! If you can share the link to our funding campaign that would be a huge help to make the film even better and we would be so grateful.
Agreed, Jhona Alm - Congrats on being greenlit, Pete Tomkies! You definitely put your promotion in the right place, but if you have a moment, I'd love for you to share a little behind-the-scenes reflection in the Filmmaking Lounge? Maybe you could talk about your process to attach named talent? https://www.stage32.com/lounge/directing
