I'm a director of live theater, playwright-lyricist, dramaturg and acting coach. One of my musical theater projects is in the process of receiving a score from a composer and already has a producer attached. I have more than a dozen other copyrighted projects for which I'm seeking composers. For details, please message me privately with your email address or a link to your website with samples of your original compositions, recorded with real live human voices instead of MIDI. Until a show is optioned for commercial production, neither the composer nor I will be compensated. If I could pay for someone to compose, I definitely would but then--like Disney--I WOULD OWN ALL RIGHTS in the music. The best deal I can offer is, if and when a show is optioned, we would--in most instances--split the Author's Advance and ALL ROYALTIES 50-50. Where my libretto is based on/adapted from material copyrighted bv a third party, the split will be one-third to each of us.
Always great to see you in the lounges, Robert D. Carver! How have you been? Congrats on your musical theatre project moving forward with attachments, that's fantastic! What's up next for you?
Thank you, Kay. Much appreciated. Just trying to hang in there. How about you?
Lighting a fire under the half dozen other composers with whom I'm currently collaborating on other projects and finding new composers for the dozen or so additional backlogged shows for which I've written books & lyrics. HOW ABOUT YOU?
