Hello Fellow Stagies,
I'm following up on my New Years Resolution to post on Stage 32 more, and take better advantage of this amazing platform.
So here's me Introducing Myself:
I'm a multi-hyphenate, which as actually been a bit of a problem for me over the years - splitting the stream and all that. Working on that.
I wrote music-based comedy feature over the past few years - the screenplay and the songs. I recently got it budgeted, and was expecting it to be in the 3-5 million dollar range, but it actually came in at 8.6. Clearly my perception of what things cost needs a major upgrade. I'm going to do the Stage 32 Webinar on producing a 5-10MM feature, but I'm also realizing that until I have more significant credits, raising that kind of money is going to probably be an uphill battle. So I've started writing a (limited series) sitcom that can be shot on a single set, and can hopefully produce with my own money. I'm also buying lottery tickets, which I'm told is a sound investment strategy if you make sure to buy winning tickets.
In the meantime, I'm wishing you all massive success in all your creative (and other) ventures, and hope to meet you in person one day. Maybe on a set!
And finally, as a means of introducing myself, here's a little something I shot during the Shutdown:
