Any professional wrestling fans in here? I have had an idea for a script for a couple years now and never wrote anything for it. Now STARZ comes out with Heels, which is awesome, but overall it lacks any hook- it just doesn’t have anything that is that great. So part of me wants to write this script. Us wrestling fans band together, we are a big family. So this post… I’m writing it out of curiosity on if I worked on it- does stage 32 have any wrestling fans that would have interest in collaborating, giving constructive criticism, whatever..?

Hi @Christopher I’d aim on conflict between antagonist and protagonist being for personal reasons irrespective of anything they specialise in at work. Reason is it then becomes a personal investment to audience where they bat for a character THEN bring in “sub genre.” This tip worked for me in a Spanish pulp I wrote after Carlos Gallardo’s masterclasses in London. (Once upon a time in Mexico, El Mariachi, Desperados.) Make it multi layered and bring in specialist genres as an addition rather than introduce as the whole. Intense productions and other companies have made films with “specialist fights” or “alternative groups” and gained huge in built fan bases even before followers of main story. Have fun!

I have freinds who are wrestlers, I would be happy to help if I can.
