I see a lot of these Pitch Sessions for a fee here on Stage32 and I notice that most, if not all of these sessions, the person we're supposed to be pitching to is not actually looking for material to acquire. So, what's the point of the pitch session? To sharpen ones skills at pitching?

I'm sure they are looking for material (if in fact you mean the execs listed on the pitch sessions page). It's just that in most cases they don't find what they're looking for. Nature of the game.
It looks like they may also want a consultant relationship too because I heard they ask for retainer fees to read your material.
