Screenwriting : Finished a first draft for a new script! by Jerzy P. Suchocki

Finished a first draft for a new script!

Ah, I'm just sharing the news! After 16 days of hard work, I finished the first draft of a sci fi script about time travels... and boy, oh boy, am I tired, haha!

But it does feel great, especially because it is my most ambitious and strange project to date. A mix of spy thriller, 1960s psychodelia, Marvel stuff, and Ingmar Bergman's existencialism... No idea how such a thing will be received, but I'm hoping to send it to the Stage 32 Sci-Fi contest once I finish the rewriting (which won't be easy given the script's length).

What are you working on, Stage 32 gang?

Doug Nelson

Congratulations on getting your first draft completed. That already puts you in the top tier of the folks you see in here. Now the real writing begins. Hope you have the stamina & the thick hide to carry it to the finish in a year or two with a couple dozen rewrites.

Hunter Huiet

Congratulations! Which screenwriting software or app did you use?

Sabrina Miller

Congrats on pounding out the muscle-draft! Such a wonderful feeling of elation after typing "FADE OUT".

I agree with Doug about the rewrites. I'm still polishing a script I churned out in the fall of 2020. But my passion for my story and my love of the characters inhabiting that story have kept me going while slogging through the wonderful world of rewrites.

A sci fi, time travel story, awesome

Stephen Folker

Just wrapped a period comedy screenplay. Congrats on finishing your script.

Geoff Hall

Finished a pilot script a few weeks ago, for an animated series and I’m awaiting feedback from trusted friends. 1 in, 2 to go.
