So we've all heard how important connections are in making it to Hollywood but that means people like me start of on the backfoot. I've never stepped foot in a LA nor even a movie set but I doesn't mean I don't want to break into Hollywood badly so I was hoping for some advice on how to do that since any would do me a universe of good!

The oldest, and still the best way, is to write amazing scripts that get attention of agents/managers, studios, and more importantly TALENT. You master the art of storytelling and you can 'write' your own ticket.

Hi Demian - welcome to the Producing lounge - quick question for thought - if "breaking into Hollywood" is the goal, what is the motivation for the break in? What is your measurement for success of the "breaking into Hollywood"? I'm asking to help you narrow the "why" that can keep you motivated to push forward on the hard days. There are so many levels of breaking in, just curious, what your desired outcome is? Keep at it!

You're in South Carolina - every state (as far as I know) has some form of a film board that knows who's shooting in your state - contact 'em. Volunteer as a PA - get yourself on a set/project and get to know the players. Also, you're not that far from Atlanta.

Many people living in LA constantly ask that question...It's like living at Willy Wonka's and not knowing how to get a chocolate...ludacris
And for those of you who ain't there and have a youth, no kids, no bills...what's stopping you? For Christ sake, just enroll as an security guard or maintenance at a studio if nothing else...everyone's writing a script there...just those guys get to say hello to Clooney or Reeves every day as an bonus...
