Greetings! I'm looking for stories on what you all do in order to overcome what I've come to think of as "Production Block" when initiating the next step of a trans-media project. I've hit a block, and release time is nigh unto yesterday...
I feel like you may have to elaborate on what "production block on next step of a trans-media project" means. Can you give us any details on your project in particular?
Thanks kindly, Ladies. I believe the issue boils down to a simple lack of education. I just downloaded new publishing software that came with absolutely no instructions and YouTube tutorials will only get a person so far. Funding? That's coming straight out of pocket at the moment. I'm using my first project to establish at least a tiny small business presence.
I feel that, AJ McNamara. I'm very familiar with the Production Process (live-action), so much so that I can riff and adapt. Like playing Jazz, right? You know enough to bend and break the rules. But when it comes to development? There is no clear path, so I feel like I haven't learned the rules well enough to riff. I feel like has to be true for Transmedia as well - it's so new and still changing so much, it's hard to put your finger on "this is the model for how to do THIS", so "figuring it out" takes longer than just educating yourself.
Gorgeous analogy there. I've decided to try and follow a more marketing-oriented strategy. Like, if I want to get a "based on" script produced, I'm gonna have to publish what it's based ON first... Yep, takes forever.

Is the project funded - if yes, this can help your direction. If no, is that the block?
