I joined stage32 about a week ago, and I've been pretty busy since then. I'm a freelance writer who has written for video games and theater. I'm trying to find a job as a writer or as a WA lately, but it's slow going. I've managed to write a feature length script that won a few finalists spots, and a few shorter ones here and there. And I do write professional short stories for ESL students via Eduland, and I'm going to have a book published next year.
How are things, Damon Day? That's cool that you wrote for video games and theater. Congrats on winning the finalists spots and your other success.

Thanks! I'm going to be moving to Austin Texas sometime later this year, so I hope to somehow get either a PA or a writing position somewhere in the city.
Also, truth be told, I'm kinda hoping to somehow pitch my feature length script, Underdark, here.

You're welcome. You can check the Stage 32 job section for jobs. Adding a picture (or script poster) and a synopsis to "Underdark" could help you pitch your script on here.

Yeah, I've been meaning to do that, just haven't been able to scrounge up the time.

Right now, I'm working with Javelin Games LTD, and I have written for MeChat/BetterMe as a scriptwriter for their romance visual novel game. I also have experience with GameJams (where you make a game in 48 hours), and I'm creating a GDD as a pet project in my own spare time.
That's great, Damon Day. Is writing a game different than writing a script?

Maurice Vaughan It varies from place to place. Like, for example, with Javelin Games I often have to write out player steps and puzzle walkthroughs, with not a lot of focus on dialogue. But, in BetterMe, I had to write out full scenes and character emotes. So, it generally depends on what kind of game your writing for.

No problem, Maurice Vaughan , give it a try! I generally use Upwork to find jobs. Just keep in mind that every company has their own house style you'll need to adjust to.
Thanks, Damon Day. I use Upwork. I saw game writing jobs on there.
