Distribution : YouTube Channel hacked and deleted by Isaac David Quesada

YouTube Channel hacked and deleted

I have been working on building it for 16 years now, things were flowing smoothly,, I felt proud about the content produced for it and the amount and quality of subscribers and today out of nowhere a Cryptocurrency scam called MicroStrategy took control of it and started running a live video, I stopped it as soon as I could, changed passwords and all that stuff, and then out of nothing I got a mail from Youtube telling me the live video was against their policy and I had a YT channel no more, I already appealed it but I have found on Reddit and Google that it seems to have happened to a lot of YT channels and no one got their channels back, some say this hack comes from malware from downloading pirated content but that is not the case with me. I am posting this here as a warning, check you have a complex password, try to secure your account as much as possible. As video creators we invest a lot of time on YT channels, so this sucks and I would hate for those kind of scammers applying something like this to lots of other YT channels, also feels kind of better to talk about the experience.

Sorry that this happened, Isaac. Thanks for the advice.

Karen "Kay" Ross

That's... wow. And all the viewing history with it, too? That's insane!

Hey Isaac, this is Karen from the Stage 32 team. I just wanted to let you know I moved your post from Anything Goes to Distribution, as it fits much better there. Let me know if you have any questions, and all the best to you!

So sorry that happened to you, Isaac.

You are all very kind. It was annoying and a bit frustrating, but now that some days have passed I realized I have been using YT as a tool to get known as a visual creator, but having lost it, seems like there might be better ways of doing that without the need of youtube. It even might be a blessing in disguise. Thanks for your nice comment. It feels good to be part of this community.
