Hello, friends! How are you? So, I was wondering... You might help me with something... I'm not sure if the stress to get into the Actors Studio is worth it. Growing up I heard wonderful things about it. And you have the opportunity to audition to become a member... But everything is so secretive about it... You can't really talk to anyone unless you'r already a member. I tried to research information on line, but I always find the same old info and it's not deep enough... Have you ever tried to become a member? Do you know anyone who already auditioned? Are you a member? The process is quite long in order to audition, but honestly, I haven't met anyone who is already inside the Studio... Could you guide me? Is all the stress worth it? Thanks so, so much!!!!!

Are you referring to the Actors' Studio from "Inside the Actors' Studio"?

Buy a copy of the Stanislavski book 'An Actor Prepares' to learn more about the craft from this point of view.
Acting is stressful.
It says here: https://theactorsstudio.org/faq/ that - under certain circumstances - you can audit classes.
Yes, I was referring to that Studio, although that was just a TV show and it didn't show the real work of its members... Do you know anyone who is part of the studio? Thanks so much Karen "Kay" Ross and Steve James . I did read that book many, many years ago... Actually, that's my main technique, so that reading was mandatory. But I read the article you attached... I didn't remember it was self-directed work, though... I thought there would be some guidance... Thanks so much!!!!
