Welcome, Anthony. I don't know much about 3D creation and film production, but as with all fields in the film industry, it's difficult. That doesn’t mean it's impossible though. Keep creating and keep learning. Stay encouraged along the way.

I think you have a much better chance than other professions. CGI is exploding and there's always a need for talented animators, plus you can do all your work in your room. Just put out impressive showreels and you're sure to get noticed! Work hard, do great work and you'll be fine!

With virtual studios and VR coming into vogue, I'm sure that will create more demand for 3D.
