I did my first pitch session through the site and it was a cool experience. Good enough that I wanna try again. But I wanna try to do better and address some of my weaker spots on my response card. My lowest score was in "Pitch delivery/format". I think part of that was that I was just sick that day. The bigger part is that I was pitching an animated show, but didn't have any visuals in my pitch. So here's my question.
If I'm in the room with people, I've got no problem putting together visuals to put on a board or pass around. On a zoom/skype meeting I'm a little less sure. Is it weird to just pitch over a slideshow that I screen share? Should I screen share only the parts where I want to say "here's what this character I'm talking about will look like", or will switching back and forth be too much busy work? I've got some cool visuals I've put together for the project, but I still want to connect to the person I'm talking to, which feels hard to do if they can't see my face.
Overall the response I got was positive, so I'm excited to try to improve.
