Introduce Yourself : Hi, I’m Lili by Lili Marchenski

Hi, Lili Marchenski. I'm not writing a Rom-Com, but I wanted to greet you. I'm sure you'll run into some people who are writing Rom-Coms.

Thank you Maurice, what are you working on?

You're welcome. I'm rewriting a short script and developing a project with someone.

Do you plan to direct your project?

No, Lili Marchenski. I just write (scripts, commercials, etc.), make treatments, and make pitch decks. The short script and the other project are getting made though.

Comedies, specifically rom-coms, are my specialty. I've finished two feature scripts ("Stand Tall!" and "Fugitive Sweetheart") and am close to completing a third, "Screen Time," a time-travel tale set in classic Hollywood (think "Back to the Future" meets "Singin' in the Rain"). I'm also a film historian who ran the Carole & Co. site (named for the lovely Lombard, patron saint of screwballs) from 2007 to 2021. Would appreciate meeting potential collaborators.

What I need to do is find producers for the scripts I've written, as well as collaborators for future projects.

Hi Vincent, your scripts sound very interesting.

Period pictures are expensive to produce but if it’s a great story people will invest.

I work with Hallmark and Lifetime.

Amman, part of Colleen's backstory is that she can't have children due to physical abuse from her ex. She thus dotes on her 10-year-old nephew. (In addition, she affectionately treats the scientist who accidentally enlarged her as a surrogate child.)

And yes, I'd be happy for you to pitch the script around...but please read it first. (Colleen, our 16-foot-plus protagonist, is a complex character -- although any actress who plays her must be able to sing '60s girl-group music.)

And Lili, both "Stand Tall!" and "Fugitive Sweetheart" are set in the present day.

It's more implied than actually seen, but it plays a big role in the relationship between Colleen and Tim (her ex), and how it evolves after she becomes three times bigger. His abuse was such that she now can't have children -- something she desperately desires.
