Just checking in today. I'm an experienced psychotherapist who "writes on the side"...I'm an older guy. How old? Well let me just say that when I was in undergraduate film school in the mid 1970's - at San Diego State - my film professor was Robert Mckee! WAAAAAAY before he hit the big time with his now decades old writing seminars, books, etc.
I've thrown in the proverbial towel many times but I'm still hanging in there. My goal is to be the oldest guy who ever joined the Writer's Guild (LOL)....

Hi Frank, I'm also a psychotherapist, and actress, and realtor, and screenwriter :) I'm sure you'll succeed in your goal. Where there's a will.. plus the older. you are the better your stories will be, aka more experience.

Welcome Frank. I'm old too :) I did a film course stint in art school in the ealy-to-mid 80s. I'm not sure when McKee started his circuit, but I went to his seminare.. I can't remember exactly (like I said, I'm old too.. haha), 89 or 90 maybe. It was the first sort of ah-ha experience. It's really different now with so much good education available. I've taken breaks too because I was so all in that it wasn't healthy. Lately I've found that a really productive two hours can end up being work that sits better in the end. How true. I also live in San Diego. Our movie "Cat's Game" was filmed in San Diego. "Cat's Game" is a daring high seas adventure about smuggling and sailing. Currently we've had sales in 20 different countries around the world. We're on Prime, Tubi, and Plex. I'm 73 years old brother.
