Screenwriting : Copyright protection by Aikaterini Athina Bougoulia

Copyright protection

This might seem like an obvious question but I wanted some clarification: If I register my script or pitch bible with the U. S. Copyright Office, does it hold for another language? I was thinking if I don't manage to connect with a big streaming platform, I'd try a production in my country. I know I'd be able to connect and sell it easier like that. The language is different though. Would the copyright hold? Do I need to also write it in my language?

Craig D Griffiths

I believe it applies to all countries that sign on to the international copyright treaty. So I think it is language independent.

You can check with the U.S. Copyright Office to be sure, Aikaterini Athina Bougoulia.
