Beautiful Ones,
I'm fairly new to screenwriting though not new to activism or writing. I'm just finally putting it all together.
I have a one-hour pilot in the contest rounds right now, having recently placed as a semifinalist in the Screencraft fellowship:
"When a charged video of her altercation with a cop goes viral, the captain of Oakland’s only all-female fire crew must fight a corrupt city government that threatens to disband them."
I'm pretty serious about these kinds of things, but am cracking jokes at everything else in life.
Looking for: co-conspirators, allies, representation, and someone who wants to make my show!
Loves: uplifting others. Let's goooooo!

Congrats on being a semifinalist, Megan Rees. Your script sounds interesting, but I'm not sure what "the captain of Oakland’s only all-female fire to disband them" means.
I also write anti-racist stories. I wrote a Virtual Reality Drama short script titled "RACEism" this month. I think if racist people saw it, they would see the devastating effect that racism has on people.

Ugh, copy/paste issues. Will fix. Love to hear it about your story!

Your script sounds great, Megan Rees! I haven't seen a movie about an all-female fire crew.
Here's the logline for "RACEism": After his wife signs him up for an experimental VR game, a racist white cop experiences racism as a Mexican man and a black man.
rad, Maurice Vaughan that sounds amazing!
