I've been a paid writer for almost 50 years. Over the years, I've had about half a dozen agents, and they were so good, I can't even remember their names.
So, I decided to self publish on Amazon, and now I have over 60 published titles. I made a few bucks, too—beer money, not Roles Royce money.
But I'm burnt out writing books, and I am now looking to turn several of my books into screenplays.
I've been around long enough to know nothing in this business is simple or easy. And nothing is guaranteed.
But the one thing I can control is how hard I work.
Whether this pays off or not, I'm doing what I want to do and let the chips fall where they may.
