Seeking $5K-$10K Investment for Creation of an NFT Minting Site for Minting Permutations of an Interactive TV Series as NFTs via Pre-sale Agreements (Est. ROI within 2-6 Weeks with Distribution Rights to 1 of the Permutations)

Contained in this posting is a quick outline and strategy for the first-ever permutable narrative- I have a script, a full cast and crew on board, a teaser trailer, a poster, an iMDB page, and various other content.

Recently, I approached an NFT expert with the idea to create a minting site to sell permutations of the narrative as NFTs and we are now looking to go full steam ahead with this.

The title for the narrative is The Chronic Adventure Story and will be the pilot to a series of the same name.

How does this work?

Movies are often shot in parts- it is up to a film editor to put these parts together in post. What comes with this is often a discovery process- as the editor is assembling scenes in a film or shots in a scene often he realizes that changing the order of things can change the whole entire context to what was originally intended- and sometimes this makes it into the final product. From this, I discovered something- by deliberately writing a film so that it can make sense in different orders, you get something truly unique. For those who have ever tried unscrambling a Rubik's Cube or discovered how many different words you can assemble with just a few letters in Scrabble, you might know where I'm heading with this.

By creating a narrative of four rearrangeable acts in particular, you can get the following combinations:

ABCD, ABDC, ACBD, ACDB, ADBC, ADCB, BACD, BADC, BCAD, BCDA, BDAC, BDCA, CABD, CADB, CBAD, CBDA, CDAB, CDBA, DABC, DACB, DBAC, DBCA, DCAB, DCBA

Each of these permutations is a potential NFT.

What this can mean to the average viewer is that any time they go to watch the episode they may have a completely unique experience. The characters and scenes may be the same- but the context and character motivations will be vastly different. And this applies beyond just the pilot...

There will be a whole series of episodes that this may be applied to...

For the owner of any one of these NFTs, this will mean having distribution rights (under a limited license) to that particular episode permutation (of which there will be a total of 24 per episode).

Filming on the pilot is currently targeted for Fall of this year from a budget of $300,000 (for an est. 32 minute runtime). The goal is to raise this funding through pre-sale agreements of the permutations as NFTs. Assuming I am able to meet this goal, my aim is to release the pilot by late December.

As a filmmaker and artist who has been working on this for a long time, this is a concept that I am very passionate about.

As the budget is currently tight, I am seeking an investment in the range of $5K-$10K to aid in the deployment and creation of the minting site. For this, I am working with blockchain developer Whole Space, whose previous works you can find linked in the comments. In exchange for this, I will gift the investor with one of these NFTs- a $12,500 value (which I anticipate I may be able to raise to a $20K value easily before the NFTs are even put up for auction) which you can trade at any time. If what I've said so far has not convinced you, there's a high likelihood this will accrue in value- and prop up the value of the rest of the permutations as well; either way, it's a promising investment.

We would be looking for the investment asap but with a quick roi in the form that I've mentioned already.

Please DM me for additional materials including the script as well as any background and details you want to share about yourself ~

Hi Eric, your project is so innovative and ambitious! Have you thought about pitching this to a streamer like Netflix, who already started experimenting in the space of "choose your own adventure" endings and in the NFT space >> https://www.creativebloq.com/news/netflix-nft + https://netflixnftcampaign.com/

Eric Bergquist

I have looked into some of what Netflix is doing. For now, I would like to stay independent with this. As a business model, I think there's a lot more potential in making this go viral first- and I would also like to retain creative control as much as I can. If Netflix wants to make an offer later, I'll be open to it but Netflix is notorious for its "buyout" structure, wherein, from much of what I've read, they have a tendency to pay the equivalent of pennies against many film budgets when acquiring a lot of indie films from festivals, etc. This is great if you're just looking for views but if you're looking for something sustainable, as a filmmaker, it may not be in your best interest. Also, as a young filmmaker who is relatively unknown, I'm not in the best position to have leverage which is why it's more important that I can produce a proof-of-concept first (to be clear this is NOT a choose your own adventure- while a lot of inspiration was drawn from the CYOA books, this takes a vastly different approach to variable storytelling).

Hi Eric, I’ve sold NFT’s as a sort of “box set” to my project. If I sell any more at the moment, I would be underwater with the current ETH value. Why not use a stablecoin? Also, could you not use a minting site that is already trying to establish itself in multimedia production like this (as film industry goes), they’re looking for novel content to get behind. I appreciate your ambition but I’’ still trying to sell 84 “regular” NFT’s. Your idea has to come across crazy simple. Do you have a mood board or small sizzle reel to get the message across?

Eric Bergquist

Hey Gus Klein, I'm finally able to get around to responding to your message- I've been consulting with some NFT consultant agencies since I made this post and right now I'm leaning towards a stable coin as you suggested if I'm able to make that work for my purposes. I have looked into existing movie-related minting sites (such as moviecoin.com and cinever.se)- my only hesitation with these is that these sites may already have a way of marketing themselves that may not align with what I'm trying to do. The long-term goal would be to make this premises its own self-contained "thing". I have begun reaching out to these sites, however, and am still waiting on a response. I have also chosen that I will likely host these NFTs through an established marketplace like OpenSea.

To follow up on your request for a mood board/sizzle reel, although it's probably not quite what you're looking for, I do have a teaser my team and I produced last year which you can watch here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lmD7MA6AAU4&list=LL&index=3

I also have a featurette from a year ago in which I explain the premises in a little bit more detail: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MlZ0MlgllFI

This said, I would love to connect with you over direct message to pick your brain about how you were able to sell NFTs for your project- what successes you had, what some of the starting costs were, etc.

Eric Bergquist

Hey Colette "ByFilms" Byfield, thank you for your kind words. I did try reaching out to the "Calladita" team with no response. I was wondering if you would know of someone from the crew who I can reach out to directly? I also don't know what Clubhouse is.
