My name is Chris York and I am based in the Midwest. I am currently working as an Exception Control Group (ECG) Analyst for a freight billing company. I signed up to Stage 32 after a recommendation I saw suggesting that Stage 32 was a free networking site (and an alternative to a more "scammy" pay site).
I have been working on a TV Series Pitch Bible for a combat sports franchise that has a retro vibe for some time now. I am determined that it would be a good fit for an over-the-air television network like MeTV, Antenna TV, ION, etc.
I keep coming back to my TV Series Pitch Bible and rewriting, adding more details, etc.
I have decided that there has to be a better way to get my concept off the computer screen and manifested into reality by pitching my vision to open-minded individuals so I hope within this massive community that my timing is right to make it happen!

This is a great intro, Chris, and welcome! I love the sound of your idea. The retro spin is the cool part for me. Have you sifted through our classes to see if anything sparks you for rounding out your bible? Have you tried reaching out to execs at companies or people at ESPN or All3media? I don't have names but you gotta hit the ground running and knock down doors.
Welcome, Chris York. Your combat sports franchise sounds interesting. Is combat sports like the American Gladiators show?

Ilan Breil I did reach out to a few production companies, but it has been a while and I've rewritten a lot of it since then. I spoke to someone on the phone, but I did not have a sizzle reel, and this person specialized in international distribution for projects that were completed or nearly completed.
Since, this is not a traditional TV series, the bible I speak of is outlining the concept, the location, feel of the show, character concepts, etc. The character concepts are for some ideas for "gimmicks" to apply to the athletes, but it is kind of like a reality TV situation where we don't know who the individuals may be.
I have just started looking around the Stage 32 site, but thanks for advising to check some things out.

Maurice Vaughan It is actually Professional Wrestling, but Professional Wrestling is very difficult to pitch because of what it has become. That is the main reason I am primarily classifying it as a Combat Sports Franchise.
I would like to have an opportunity to rehab a building into a studio location to allow training and a live audience without renting out various venues continuously. The best description I can give is comparing the set location to studio wrestling of the 70s/80s or more recently the fictional venue on the show "Heels" on Starz.
This will not be the acrobatics of wrestling as it is today where the athletes constantly do dives and flips. The realism factor is extremely important and I am hopeful that the distinction will be a good selling point.
I've heard of "Heels," Chris York. Sounds like your project will stand out from other wrestling shows. Do you have a pitch deck?

Maurice Vaughan Yes, but not a sizzle reel and I have scouted some locations, but I need the finances to procure. There are a lot of large retail spaces that would be perfect to convert into a studio.

Have you thought about crowdfunding the sizzle reel, Chris York?
