Godfather Fans! Have you watched Pachinko? What did you think of the adaptation from book to series and the time skipping devices the screenwriter used to tell this multigenerational story?
Hi. My short answer is that I really liked Pachinko. It was fresh. Not overly developed (meaning, not slick). I believed the characters, and I cared about most of them. The Time-travel was a bit confusing for me. We need more stories like this.
Howard I really enjoyed it too (haven't read the book yet but is on my summer reading list, I enjoyed the trilingual script, and the way it weaves the three languages so beautifully.) Some great articles on how many of the cast had to learn to act in new languages. AGREE we need more diverse stories like this!
Thank you for sharing the article, Rosemund. I haven't watched Pachinko as of yet, but I finished a marathon of Mr. Sunshine yesterday and was hoping to find another poignantly beautiful series. Mr. Sunshine covers the history of the relationships between Joseon, Japan, and the U.S. beginning in 1871, with a final scene in 1919, so Pachinko will be perfect. Thanks again!
I haven't watched Pachinko but I have watched The Offer on Paramount+. From an industry, writer, and producer's viewpoint, I give it 5 stars and 2 thumbs up.

Art Wasem - I've been watching the Offer, too. I know it's been getting crushed but I'm enjoying the hell out of it, too.. It's a fun escape.
