Generic question of the day - if you submit a script for an open submission, once the deadline ends, is there a set time parameter within which the writer will know whether there is interest in their work (optimistic) or no interest in their work (realistic)? Thanks!

Stage 32 sends out emails to let writers know if the companies are interested in their scripts or not (or if the companies are interested in hiring them for jobs or not). I'm not sure if there's a time frame.

You're welcome, Mark Giacomin. I worked on two projects today. Done one. Almost done the other. How was your day?

Hi Mark, Maurice is correct, we send out emails when the deadline closes with some more information on next steps. It typically takes a few weeks to find out whether your script has passed on to the next round, and executives sometimes take several months to provide more feedback. We try our best to keep you as updated as possible throughout the process.

Maurice Vaughan the writing machine! Work was busy (nothing to do with writing), switched off in the evening then instead of going to bed, I spent 2.5 reading through one of my scripts & put it in for one of the Open Submission slots. It's probably the equivalent of me throwing rocks into the Grand Canyon, but at least I made the effort.
Thanks for explaining, Molly Peck.
Mark Giacomin, I just realized we met on Script Hive (Discord). Or maybe it was ScriptCamp.
What genre is the script you submitted to the Open Writing Assignment?

Maurice Vaughan It's possible you may have met one of my American iterations as there is a handful of them (probably all replicants). The only virtual place I have been where I may have been spotted is Jacob Krueger's 'Write Your Screenplay' class near the start of the year.

Sorry Maurice Vaughan, forgot to answer your question about the OWA! Horror genre, slasher with an element of the supernatural. What genre are your projects?

Were you part of the ScriptHive event with Jason Mirch, Mark Giacomin? The Ask Me Anything with Jason? I think that's when we met.
The short script I'm working on is Thriller.
