Hello Cheryl, do you have anything in the way of a portfolio or résumé? It seems like you have not done set design before for film but do you have anything that could give someone an indication of what you’re capable of? I’m producing a short film in New York in the next couple of months and we are looking for a set designer.

Get on set, volunteer as a set dresser or set PA. Get to know people in the department. Work hard, be professional, develop relationships.
