my honest suggestion... write the book.

Danny is correct. A movie tends to be a single place in time. It is a story that can be told once. A movie is a specific beast.
A book you can self publish for free via Amazon. The world will see it. If you write a film. You have to find someone willing to spend millions so people can see it.
Okay a book i was thinking that as well.
