Hi Sarah and welcome! Great bio, by the way! You mention spoken word poems - would you like to share a bit about your process? For instance, does the music come before the word, or does the poem bubble up and you then write the music for it? Or does it all happen at the same(-ish) time?

Hi Julia, I'd love to answer your questions! Usually I have a rhythm in my mind before I compose my mostly free verse poems. I focus on the message and the emotions I wish to convey first and start free writing till it seems complete. For some reason usually 2-3 pages of speech.Then I preview instrumentals that have a ambiance that won't take away from the poem and let's the words shine, and voila!
