One of the best experiences I had as a screenwriter doing my MFA at the AFI Conservatory in LA was working closely with Editors in shot selection, sequence tightening and visual storytelling. Editors are that last bastion Screenwriters can depend on to interpret a story in the way it was written... even if the process in between gets it wrong.
