I really want to be the best writer I can be. I need help making it to my dreams of being a screenwriter, director, actor, producer, etc. Please help me.
I’m gonna be real with you brotha. You’re gonna be hard pressed to find people that want to help you just because. You really have to prove to people that them helping you is going to be worth their time. Will helping you, put money in their pockets? If you want to write, have a wealth of well written scripts to showcase, if you want to act/direct take lessons and have a fire acting/directing reel, if you want to be a producer learn the business.
Crying out for help is a tell tale sign that a person is green and people will exploit that and take advantage of you at the very least financially. Many people make a living off selling dreams and false/vague credits to get your money.
for me whats work best is reading books about screenwriting craft and then apply the new knowledge live on my projacts as i read, this way i remember and understand more deeply and also advance my work. i can recommend you about some good famous books. good luck!
KEEP FLIPPING WRITING. WHEREVER YOU CAN, JOIN TWITTER WRITING GROUPS, WRITE, PITCH, COMMENT, AND WRITE AGAIN. CREATE A PLATFORM OF YOUR FILMS AND STORIES, AND LET THEM KNOW WHY THEY NEED U.
If you’ve been at this for a decade there should be a network of writers, industry folk, and so on that you can pull from to help you further your career
Cameron Tendaji Well, I tried networking and still haven’t had luck. I tried and don’t know what else to do. I tried talking to other writers, applied for film jobs and haven’t had luck for ten years
Josiah Bhola Hillaire then there’s a disconnect somewhere if nobody has tried to assist in a decade. It’s either the quality of your work, your approach, or something about yourself as a person that isn’t resonating with people. That’s probably a good place to start. Because you’d be surprised how much “bad stuff” gets made just because they liked the person creating it.

The only person that can help you, is you. Learn your craft to the best of your knowledge. Prove your worth, have ambition and the doors will open.

Read the greats and keep reading the greats.
What you see when you are just starting out is something completely different to what you will see in a year, two years and ten years.
