Introduce Yourself : On a quest to find truth in art by Chris Brennan

Chris Brennan

On a quest to find truth in art

Hi there! I've been writing screenplays for over a decade now, with more than 20 feature films in my repertoire. I thrive in situations that call for rich and bold character development, and I use my experience as an actor to bring those characters to life in sophisticated plots. My main genres are: Drama, Thriller, Action-Adventure, Fantasy/Sci-Fi, and Comedy, however I am always up for a challenge elsewhere. I also just love people, so get to know me!

Maurice Vaughan

Welcome to the community, Chris. I think being an actor/writer is a big advantage because actors know how to deliver lines and act out scenes, so they know what works in scripts and what doesn't.

Here's the Screenwriting Lounge (https://www.stage32.com/lounge/screenwriting), and here's a blog about navigating Stage 32 (https://www.stage32.com/blog/navigating-stage-32-for-your-best-experienc...).

Hope you have a great time and find opportunities on here.

Hi Chris Brennan - follow all of Maurice Vaughan's advice!! He's steering you in the best direction :)

Finding 'Truth in Art' is so inspiring- you've are so multi-talented too! What are you working on now?

Hi Chris Brennan, welcome! The actor brain can really help when developing complex and rich characters. 20 features under your belt is awesome! Where are you at in your career with those? Are you selling them, producing them, or getting management? Building your portfolio only for now? You might want to check out the Writers' Room too, it's a place where our writers can network exclusively with each other, get access to Open Writing Assignments from currently looking companies, interact with executives during live webcasts, and more. Seems like that might be something you're ready for! You can find it here: https://www.stage32.com/writers-room

@Chris Welcome to Stage 32. I think acting & writing can be tard with the same brush (Yorkshire expression UK) in order to portray and execute art. There are many levels and platforms to tell one story. I have not acted since 90's but remember what I was thinking and feeling and now put it into words.

Hi Chris Brennan All that is truth in art is written between the lines.
