Killing Detroit (A True Story)

It is often said that when someone else writes your history it becomes just that... HIS-STORY. Killing Detroit is OUR-STORY told from eyewitness accounts. People who visit the Detroit always ask me "How did this place get like this? In case you've never been to the Motor City they are referring to Detroit's bombed out World War II look of complete devastation. The city has improved as of late, but scores of abandoned homes and businesses some burned out and others just neglected remain as eyesores.

How to answer that important question however is a bit more complex. Some prefer to take the low road on the question and declare that it was just lazy black people with no ambition, others call it just another typical black ghetto. This was a once booming city and the nations fifth largest. It also has always been a blue collar town where people of all races took pride in their work.

so just what actually happen to the city and why?

Few people know that the entire city was targeted by the nations biggest drug dealer the... United States government. With the help of the local police department the city was flooded with highly addictive drugs, wiping out billions in generational wealth. Throughout the 70's the cities police officers were acting as drug distributors, police drug kingpins. The impact was of this brutal tax payer funded scheme continues to impact the city even today. Killing Detroit is the story of the governments relentless, but fruitless attempt to kill a major American city.
