Hi! I am a Canadian opera singer working and living in Europe for the past 20 years, and during the pandemic I decided to get creative because the opera world took a bit of a rest. A half hour TV sitcom pilot was born.
"The eccentric Bombecker family and their strange live-in colleagues must learn to work together as they confront disaster after disaster in an effort to keep their horse raceway alive."
Looking forward to meeting people with similar interests here. :-)

Welcome to the community, Dan Chamandy. I think you're the second opera singer I've met on Stage 32.
What does "keep their raceway alive" mean?

Wow, second opera singer... Very cool. Thanks for the kind words.
Keeping it alive is a dramatic way of saying "keeping it from shutting down".

You're welcome, Dan Chamandy. Maria Restivo Glassner is the first opera singer I met on here (https://www.stage32.com/media/3093328615895477154).
Sorry, I should've been more specific. What does "raceway" mean?

Oh I see... Horse raceway... Horse track.

Oh ok. I thought it had something to do with racing, but I didn't know it was horses. Maybe change "raceway" to "horse raceway" so readers and producers will know it's horses (instead of race cars, etc.).

OK, good idea. Thanks!

The horse business is full of eccentric characters so you shouldn't have any shortage of material.

True, Richard Buzzell. I already have a set of great characters, and more will be added very soon.

@Dan Hello and welcome to Stage 32. It’s great the enforced stasis of Covid era did not stem your art.

Yes, @Debbie Croysdale, it was a very creative time for me... Probably for a lot of people as well. I am looking forward to discovering what the next steps of the process will be.

You're welcome, Dan Chamandy. Do you like horse racing movies?

Yes, Maurice Vaughan, I do seem to gravitate towards the horse movies, but that is probably because I ride as well. How about you?
