{Who can make a decent film with multiple location for 150k?}

As the question say, who can make a decent film with multiple location for 150k?

Robert Macfarlane

Hi Chris, you will find anyone can make a decent film for 150K Paranormal activity was made for 10K.

Many movies have been made for the ultra low budget sums you are suggesting. The KEY is to lean into what you can actually achieve well fort he budget scale rather than going to big and then the effect or scenes fall flat.

The best way to get this right is from the scripting phase building huge stakes for characters that can be realised and raised within a small environment. Contained genre films tend to work well for this.

You may also want to consider that for 150K you may have enough budget to afford a recognisable actor for one day of filming. This brings a lot of value to the film in the form of trailer material and poster. Think of how Brad pitt was in one shot of Deadpool 2 by David Leitch or the slew of cameos by Bruce Willis etc.

I see thank you for the tips. Script is written however the story takes place in the 1970s. I hearingbit might be better to alter it to present time.

James Thalman

period pieces are much more expensive, but not impossible. 150k is plenty if its cash in escrow and you understand how to deploy money, staying away from the my rate is 750/day guys. If you'd like to have a conversation. Email me at Jim.Thalman@gmail.com. You can google or imdb me for due diligence. I've been making movies a long time and am happy to hop on a call

Define locations - Grand Canyon to London to Cape Town to wherever? Ya ever heard of 'B' roll? Spend $150K to make another cheesy FL horror flick? Why not spent $2 to $5K to produce a truly top notch Oscar worthy short?

why stop at $150,000. if you want an a-list actor, you have to put up some money but you only get 1 chance to make a fantastic, remarkable, memorable and money making film. i’m going for the most i can get $$ through investors. if you believe that your movie is a money maker, make it even better with a-list actors. apparently a-list actors will attach themselves to your project like mentors; directors and producers can also attach themselves to your project. if have others attached to your project, money flows more easily.
