Hi -- Can anyone clue me in about the eCO registrations -- I have registered a couple of works and received the copyrights but the only info I was required to provide were the titles of the works -- no logline or synopsis, much less full text of the script. I suspect I'm doing something wrong as I can't see how in the world this creates any protection. Please & thanks for any info!

You upload a PDF of the work at the end of the process - no loglines or synopses. If I recall, it's after paying the fees. When you say "received the copyrights" do you mean a copyright registration form mailed to you from the LOC or an email stating the time of receipt?
A suggestion to go back into ECO to check the status. You might need to upload or inadvertently chose to send a physical copy which you should do.

E Langley is absolutely right. A copy of the work needs to be deposited with the Copyright Office to complete an application. This doesn’t always happen at the same time (such as where a completed film is too large to upload through the electronic portal and is mailed in on DVD instead).

Thank you so much I will double check this stuff -- am I the only one who finds the eCO site difficult to navigate?

It can be daunting at first. It's not the most user-friendly site I've ever seen.
Good luck.

Julie: I've registered 50 screenplays, and the info you received is correct.

Welcome, Julie.
I registered my script before I sent it in to the East Hot Coffee, Alabama Quilting Bee and Screenwriting Competition. I placed quarterfinalist.

Everything I've registered with eCO has required me to upload the script, pitch deck, or treatment. There should have been an option to upload your work.
