Josiah, I like coming up with loglines, developing each logline into six plot points, building an "outline/scene list" around the plot points, and writing the script itself...and I like going to Google to research whatever city that screenplay I'm writing is set in.
I enjoy seeing my old draft's page number change. Whether it's big or small. That validates me when hours of writing are done, and you see the page count went from 98 pages to 124 pages. That's an enjoyment.
I personally love writing the characters! Finding out who they are, where they come from, what makes them tick. And then, when you get stuck, going back and asking the character what they'd do... I love seeing how they develop, and looking back over my first draft, realising how much they've changed, or how much they've learned. In terms of drafting, I love the post-first-draft feeling. Because after all the other drafts, you're never really sure if it's done. But after that first draft, it's DONE.
Hi Josiah, I'm finding this a much more difficult question to answer as I think about it. I like the idea-formulating stage best, but then - similar to Vic-(thanks for the laugh, Vic) when I begin organizing it into screenplay format, I decide it's all terrible and have to leave it alone for a while!

Josiah Bhola Hillaire My favorite parts of the writing process are coming up with new ideas, outlining scripts, and writing scripts.

I love the rewriting process. Which likely makes me a psychopath, but so be it :)

First draft...throw down in two days. Hate myself for a week in a corner. Week two, shower and correct.
