Hello Everyone,
I'm in the beginning stages of creating a working budget for my film Destination Unknown.
Logline: A traumatized 17-year-old volunteers for WWII service to escape the clutches of the Klan only to find an equally insidious foe within that threatens to thwart his segregated battalion's critical D-Day mission. Based on a true story, it's a MEN OF HONOR meets RED TAILS drama.
Quick question: I'm looking for possible locations that look like Omaha Beach, one of the major battlefields in the D-Day invasion. Any suggestions for places I should consider would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Michael

Ireland's beaches doubled for Omaha Beach / D Day in Saving Private Ryan. If you're in the USA pick a state with beaches and check the state's film commissions. As long as the beaches are long, there's a shingle, and cliffs you should be okay.

If you're producing, look for states open to non-union film laborers (but maybe you got studio financing, dunno).
I worked postproduction on "Jarhead" and the exterior combat scenes were filmed in San Diego deserts. Exteriors can be faked/dressed up. Especially in year 2022 with advanced vfx. Speak to vfx supervisors and have em go through script

Michael Bennett - Georgia has dozens of camera ready cities and amazing tax benefits, you should definitely consider filming here! >> https://cameraready.georgia.org/explore/film/

I'd also look into Duluth Minnesota. They have beaches there that look like the ocean and ample, stackable incentives. https://uppermidwestfilmtv.org/incentives/
