You've written a strong screenplay, now how the heck do you get your query email past the gatekeepers and get noticed?

There is an art and a skill to writing an email that makes it past the gatekeepers and connect with the decision makers who can actually get your script read. Talent manager Audrey Knox is giving us the insider info on the specific wording and information that gets your email opened and read.

Plus Audrey will share examples of successful query letters.

Here are some tips that Audrey mentioned in the webinar (some of the tips are paraphrased):

"If you're not getting responses to your query letter, it might be time to tweak it."

Keep track of who you’re emailing.

Have an attention-grabbing subject line.

Whatever the hook of your project is, make that the subject line.

Keep the query letter short.

Triple check for typos!!!

[If you get rejected] Be polite! Say thank you. This can still be a positive interaction/relationship.

BONUS! Common Mistake in Query Letters: “Including too many loglines in one query letter.

Audrey also talks about writing a logline in the webinar and a lot more. If you missed the webinar, it’ll be available to watch on-demand soon!

Maybe just choose an "gate-keeper free" environment...European, Asian cinema is full of producers, directors scouting quality scripts...they're more friendly to eye-to-eye approach with the writers of course assuming you know what you're doing...
