Introduce Yourself : Hello everyone! by Jim Search

Jim Search

Hello everyone!

Good morning! I'm Jim Search, new to Stage 32. I'm a comedian, writer, podcaster, and all-around good human. Let's talk creativity.

Maurice Vaughan

Welcome to the community, Jim Search. I have family in Brooklyn. I went to Manhattan once during high school. After I got back to NC, my cousin in Brooklyn said something like, "Why didn't you get on the subway and come to Brookyln?" I'm from a small town with less than a thousand people. I know NOTHING about subways. Who knows where I would've ended up. Haha

Jim Search

Ha, I've been in Brooklyn for about 14 years. I remember having a very similar experience. My friends who lived her invited me over to their house and I was like "I'll get a taxi over there." Come to find out, it was about a 10-minute walk. How time flies.

Maurice Vaughan

Time does fly, Jim Search. Manhattan is so much different than my hometown. I was surprised by how many people were in Manhattan. And the noise, traffic, and prices!

Jim Search

I would imagine! I grew up outside of NYC where living is pretty easy. As we say here "you spend $20 before you get out of bed."

Maurice Vaughan

Haha I went to Burger King thinking the prices would be cheaper than other restaurants. The prices were cheaper, but the meals were almost $10.

What projects are you working on right now?

Shellie Schmals

Hi Jim, welcome to Stage 32! What's your podcast about?

Jim Search

Shellie Schmals Thank you! So I have two podcasts, one is a 90's hip hop album review show I co-host and the other one is an interview-style podcast where I sit down with bartenders and have them tell me the crazy stories from their careers.

Jim Search

Maurice Vaughan yeah man...you do have to be savvy around these parts to find a cheap meal. As far as projects, I've got two pilots I'm trying to shop around and I'm about to drop my first comedy album in March. How about you?

Maurice Vaughan

Cool, Jim Search. What's a Comedy album!? Like a standup Comedy DVD? I'm working on a rewriting job, rewriting a short script, and pitching projects.

Bill Albert

Hello Jim. I hope it works out for you.

GiGi Raines

Hi Jim! What’s your podcast about?

Sydney Summers

Hi, Jim! Welcome to Stage 32. Looking forward to your exploration here!

Sam Mannetti

Hi Jim welcome to Stage 32! What do you write about?

Shellie Schmals

Jim - your podcasts sound super interesting! Especially the bartender one ... I probably have a few friends I could refer to you, if you are interested! Their stories are hilarious and horrific!! lol

Jim Search

Shellie Schmals I would love that! I am always looking for more bartender guests for the podcast.

Jim Search

GiGi Raines hey Gigi, my podcasts are about 90's hip hop and the other one is an interview-style

podcasts where I interview bartenders about the crazy shit they have seen.

Jim Search

Maurice Vaughan It's a comedy album, so it's a set I recorded over the summer and turned into a full-length record. That's pretty dope; I'm trying to dip my toe in the world of writing work. Any and all tips are more than welcome!

Maurice Vaughan

Oh ok, Jim Search. Cool. I'm looking forward to hearing your Comedy album.
