I help produce a YouTube channel created by writer/director/actor Julia Fowler. Julia creates in an authentic southern voice. When the industry didn’t fully embrace Julia’s work. saying that the audience “wasn’t there”, she launched the The Southern Women Channel to find her audience. Millions of views later, Julia was hired to write on the southern-based Netflix comedy “Country Comfort” created by Caryn Lucas, to adapt the southern-based books “Whistling Past The Graveyard” by Susan Crandall and “Tenacious” by Jeremy & Jennifer Williams and has two southern-themed books of essays published. It’s exciting and inspiring to see how she was able to parlay YouTube, self-starting and effort into professional opportunity, WGA membership and meaningful credits. The moral of the story is to stay authentic to yourself and always be creating. Julia’s newest Southern Women Channel video was released today - here’s a link to check it out: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=_XJlWxVPAIA
