I used to love the idea of being famous, but after seeing how fame basically ruins people's lives I decided against it, but I'd never shame another person for wanting to be famous.
No interest in fame beyond being known enough to get investors to fund my films and my scripts to be hot commodities. But the general public? No. I like my privacy too much.
Nah but I like the lifestyle of the main character in Californication tv series: writer, beach house, drives a Porsche, divorced, mentors & sleeps with aspiring actresses & writers :)
I don't necessarily want to be famous like "OMG it's David Lucero!!!!", But I wouldn't mind people just remembering my name. I'm too antisocial to want be in the spotlight, but I'm too proud of my creativity to just be invisible.
If fame is the only thing on your mind, why bother with learning a craft. Do something outrageous, that’s all you need to do these days to have your name remembered.
@Lindbergh E Hollingsworth well screenwriting is a Craft and some people would like to get famous doing this one day but there's nothing wrong with that
Hey Zelene, this is Geoff from the Stage 32 team. I just wanted to let you know I moved your post from Screenwriting to Anything Goes, as it fits much better there. Let me know if you have any questions, and all the best to you!
Fame is an interesting concept and the concepts around it have changed so dramatically in the age of social media. If “fame” is the result of good work recognized then so be it. It’s all about the work to me.
Zorrawa Jefferson - right there with you! The concept of fame has evolved so much through the years, what it means, how it's reached, and how to stay on top - it's almost impossible now to figure out a definition of famous. People can be YouTube famous, without ever having an audience beyond that platform. I agree with Sam Sokolow - it's all about the work.

I don't want to be famous, Zorrawa Jefferson. Just sell scripts, support fellow creatives, get hired for jobs, etc. :)

OK
Zorrawa Jefferson I think Zorrawa Jefferson is talking about not wanting to be a famous screenwriter. I could be wrong.

I doubt that can become famous without having a lot of money for PR.

Don't wanna be destroyed by fame, do it on time lapses like Ke Huy Quan, every 30 years or so...
