My Yale screenwriting professor prepared me for everything to succeed as a studio writer except one, all the L.A. Execs are young and looking to build 10-15 year business relationships. Thanks to Stage32, I've had over two dozen pitch meetings, but I can see in their faces when we sign on, "Why do I want to work with Santa?" They all end exactly the same, "Great story. Why don't you make it yourself?" Think I missed the boat to La-La Land, so I'll keep doing what I have for the past 6 years, write award-winning feature screenplays and self-produce my short scripts. I am shooting my 10th SAG short next month "In-Closure." My first is now on Amazon Prime, "RevelationZ." Only Lawrence Whitener on IMDb.

Hi Lawrence, the industry is certainly moving towards being more global and less based in LA. Don't give up and definitely use Stage 32 to help connect with people all over the world!
Congratulations on all your success, Lawrence!
"Think I missed the boat to La-La Land, so I'll keep doing what I have for the past 6 years, write award-winning feature screenplays and self-produce my short scripts." Exactly. Stage 32's CEO, Richard "RB" Botto, said during the Ask Me Anything today, "If you want a seat at the table and you can't get one, go build a table."
