Very helpful. Well said. Quick question: When developing a show, after the pilot, and a bible/pitch deck, should I write one or two episodes or let the pilot, etc?

Hi @jedpower , @alexandrashields ' explanation is correct. The bible is usually a very in-depth document that gives a highly detailed breakdown of almost every facet of the show. This is usually commissioned by a broadcaster or studio that wants this level of detail (for example, the studio wanted to know what a revival of Star trek would look like so the TNG bible is a whopper of a document). A pitch deck is to give an overview and sell the concept to a reader, to discuss development further.

Hi @frankhauser . @alexandrashields has given another great answer! Usually you would send your deck with a cover email and your pilot script. The pilot episode is the most crucial episode as it is the one that will either hook an audience or not. After reviewing yor deck and pilot script, whoever you have pitched to will then decide whether or not to proceed to the next step. You can have an episode breakdown to demonstrate how the rest of the show will play out episode-by-episode, but scripts other than the pilot are not required for this.

Thank you all. Where can you get help on doing a Pitch Deck? Any recommendations?

There are some talented pitch deck designers on here, Jed. You can post an ad in the Job Section.

Thank you, Maurice. I might try that if I can afford it. For first time in my life I am financially embarrassed.

You're welcome, Jed. Pitch deck designers charge different prices, so you might be able to find one who'll make a pitch deck for an affordable price.
