Writing review

I would like to know what  to do when I paid $99 here on Stage32 for an "expert" script review notes for a WWII feature drama and the writer chosen for me was someone who just finished college and has only done one short film and written "punch lines for comedies"? I was hoping for someone much more experienced, especially  in drama and WWII feature film screenwriting.? The review didn't even mention the lead character or anything about WWII... Reading "the review" notes feels like someone from US  high school wrote the notes. Not deep at all. What should I do? Can I ask for the $99 back or someone with "real experience" to review? Of course this was especially for review to help me to submit for Female Screenwriters opportunity, which deadline is tomorrow...

Reviews are opinions. I wouldn't pay for a script review. I would simply enter it into the competition and see what happens and just know, even that is someone's opinion. I entered my film/script into Cannes and three screeners gave me a pretty good review with one saying "they didn't like it." My question was, "what didn't you like?" and there was no answer. This one screener stopped me from going to Cannes without telling me why. I ended up winning at Florence. Ask for your money back and test the market with your work. That's pretty much how the greats have done it.

Paid Script Evaluators are the Snake Oil Salesmen of 'Wannabe Hollywood'.

I'm afraid you're just going to have to take your 99$ payment as a loss. Next time, network with other Screenwriters via Stage32, Screenwriting Discords, Screenwriting Reddits, etc to get various opinions. Also, CoverflyX has a nice Script-Trade program.

Sorry that happened, Eha Urbsalu. You can email Stage 32 at success@stage32.com and let them know what happened. I'm sure they'll handle it.

Cynical view, B A. I would have never had my 4 feature options and my recent TV sale without working with professional readers and getting professional notes.

Should also be noted that over 200 production companies, management firms, financiers and other executives use Stage 32 Development Services and our readers to vet projects.

I hope you can get by your cynicism and negativity. Serves no one well in this business, I can assure you.

Eha, as Maurice said, just drop success@stage32.com a line and the Development Team will get you sorted. No worries.

I can tell you that in 12 years of running this platform and all the services that we offer here, we have less than a 1% complaint rate, which we're quite proud of. But, of course, we take that 1% seriously and always stand behind what we offer. Cheers.

Richard "RB" Botto This is one of the reasons Stage 32 has a great reputation. Glad you're hands-on with things like this.

Always. Been running this joint for 12 years and couldn't be more proud of our status in the industry and that so many organizations, prod co's, management companies, streamers, etc trust and utilize our services and education to train their staffs. And, of course, as mentioned, our 99%+ satisfaction rate. We always take care of our members and always will. It's baked into our mission.

Appreciate the good words.
