Hi all, hope this doesn't seem like I'm being too lazy to figure this out on my own, but I'm sure I can get a quick answer to my question here. I'm writing a TV pilot based on adapting 2 novels by the same author (one story is for the pilot and the other is for the serialized story arc). How do I describe this on the title page? Adapted from NAMES OF NOVELS by AUTHOR, or BASED ON CHARACTERS BY AUTHOR, or something else? Thanks very much!

Do it "Based on the novel (title) by Author" for the pilot. For the story arc, I'd use the same "Based on..." except use THAT novel's title.
