Hey Maurice, good to meet you too. Speculative fiction just means anything that departs from reality. So science fiction, fantasy, horror, superhero fiction, alternate history, utopian and dystopian fiction, and supernatural fiction.
I suppose two of my scripts would meet that definition, albeit in a comedic sense:
* "Stand Tall!", a rom-com about a Vegas casino waitress who becomes a beloved showroom headliner (and finds love in the process) after accidentally tripling in size, and * "Screen Time" (in progress), which can best be described as "Back to the Future" meets "Singin' in the Rain," as a sitcom showrunner and the flighty lead actress he regularly quarrels with unknowingly go from 2019 to their Hollywood studio in 1929 as it prepares to make its first talkie.
Hey Robert Parry - great to meet you. Scifi/Fantasy writer here as well. And you're right, it's all the fun stuff! I especially love the "What if?" stories. Welcome to Stage 32. Glad you're here.
Nice to meet you, Robert Parry. I haven't heard of Speculative Fiction. What drew you to that genre?

Oh ok, Robert Parry. I write those genres (mainly Horror), so I've been writing Speculative Fiction all along. Haha
