looking for input/advice when it comes to finding PE investors for features. I've seen it done many ways, I know theres no trick to it, any ideas on where to start or approaches. I have obtained PE investments before but just curios to get other perspectives.

I would recommend going to the larger markets - like Cannes, Berlinale and AFM and networking, there are a lot of PE that attend the markets. Additionally, we have a really great webinar about this: https://www.stage32.com/webinars/How-to-Approach-Investors

Be sure you understand the difference between active and passive investors and the applicable exemption from SEC registration requirements before inadvertently offering securities. Have a well-prepared film proposal/business plan, then follow up with a proper private placement memo for qualified investors.
People with whom the indie producer has an existing relationship are usually the first sources for equity film financing. For indie films, a prospective investor is backing the filmmaker as much as (or more than) the project unless it reflects some passion that the investor shares.
