The report says:
“Stakes are high at this point between both parties, particularly in the wake of a strident letter signed by 1,000-plus high-profile actors including union president Fran Drescher that went public this week. Signed by the likes of Meryl Streep, Jennifer Lawrence, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Amy Schumer and more, the letter says that they’re “prepared to strike” if the guild doesn’t “get all the way there” in its talks with studios and streamers.”
What are your thoughts about this and how will this influence the negotiations with the WGA?

Huge. I really hope the union capitalizes on this opportunity to put our money where it's mouth is!!

While the work stoppage is so hard for so many if the right deal isn't struck that really benefits SAG-AFTRA members by the new July 12 deadline I imagine that SAG-AFTRA will strike and stand in solidarity with the WGA and use all the leverage there is to benefit both unions. Would be really terrific if meaningful deals can be made by the 12th for both unions so the creative community can get back to work. Dare to dream.

Hi David Foy Bauer Yes, me too. I hope the Unions get a good deal, otherwise my feeling is that in cinema history this may be marked as the day that the disdain for our talents was irrevocably damaged. And an industry based on resentment is not a healthy place to work.

It shows the actors are serious, Geoff Hall. I'm not sure if this will help the WGA get a fair deal, but I think if the SAG-AFTRA goes on strike, that'd help the WGA get a fair deal.
