Hello all!
I’ve been making a concerted effort to find more things to do in the writing community. Live, in person things like the WGF used to host. Talks, discussions, things like that. But IN PERSON things like that. Like in the good old “pre-pandemic” days. I’m not really interested in online events.
I was wondering if anyone knew of a good place to find scheduled events here in and around LA? Website recommendations or currently active programs?
Thanks in advance for any and all help!

Rich,
I've now attended two in person Stage 32 events and they both allowed me to get a bit more in touch with some of the local talent here in (at least) the Culver City area where I reside. I am a former military guy so I am a member of the Veterans in Media and Entertainment group also and have attended a few in person events with them as well. A litany of talented people in one place can be pretty inspiring.
At the moment, would recommend the Writers Strike picket lines as well. Have a few great friends in the Guild who are rally leaders and there seems to be a great community down there willing to discuss creative influence throughout the day.
I recently concluded a face to face brainstorming workshop at the Toluca Lake Starbucks every Sunday for a small package of my creative network. WGF will also be back up and running at capacity following the strike I am certain. Graduated their Veterans Writing Project two years ago and try to stay in touch with the organization as well as their current cohort.

Great question @Rich! If you hover of BROWSE at the top of your screen, you'll see MEET UPS in the drop down. Click that, that's where we post all our Stage 32 meet ups and members can post their own as well. And I agree with Chad that going to picket lines is is a good way to support the cause and also casually meet writers and strike up a conversation.

There are writer meetups every month in Santa Monica, North Hollywood, and now on the east side too! There are also a ton of PreWGA strike events you can attend! Follow David H Steinberg on twitter and youll see the meet up posts in SM.
