A Finnish composer/orchestrator looking to meet new people in the business!

Hi Folks,

I've been watching here on and off, maybe time for a proper introduction. I'm a composer/orchestrator with a jazz background, and have worked in feature films as an orchestrator, and as a composer for short films and documentaries. Looking to venture outside the Nordic area as well, would be great to meet up with other creatives!

Glad you stepped out of the shadows, Jussi. As I like to say, good things happen to those who step out into the light.

Our composer community is tens of thousands strong. Head over to the Composing Lounge when you have a chance. I have no doubt you have much to offer the community. Cheers, and welcome aboard!

Maurice Vaughan

Nice to meet you, Jussi Lampela. I checked out your showreel and cuts. Great music! My favorite two are "Brave New World" and "Strategy of Peace."

Leonardo Ramirez

Hi Jussi Lampela I just listened to “Medieval Fantasy” and loved it! I also loved “Brave New World”. That one easily goes with my steampunk space adventure, “The Jupiter Chronicles”. Love your work. Glad you’re with us!

Jussi Lampela

Hey, thanks for listening Leonardo and Maurice, glad to be here! And thanks Richard!

Leonardo Ramirez

You are very welcome Jussi Lampela!

You're welcome, Jussi Lampela. I haven't heard of composing documentaries before. Is it the same as composing features and short films?

Jussi Lampela

I've composed music for one longer documentary (about one hour) and a couple of shorter ones. Depends on the director's vision mostly I'd say. The longer documentary I did changed its way quite a many times in the making, the director's vision started to come together only at the editing phase, which meant I did quite a many rewrites.

Nice to have you here!

To kick things off, I'd like to recommend this upcoming Stage 32 webinar on how to produce and license songs for film & TV. I know you've done this work previously but this can be a great opportunity to learn more and connect with some other creatives in the webinar's dedicated lounge.
