I will answer it simply by saying the answer to your question is you have to do the research to find the answer as only you know your story so do the research to find the best fit.
Screenwritingstaffing .com and sellingyourscreenplay .com have leads of independent producers looking for material. They also help you polish your logline and query letter. Good luck!
Jeremy M. Drafall The best platform to find a producer or rep is Stage 32. It would benefit you to get coverage. It would also benefit you to join the Writer's Room where Open Writing Assignments are available to members. You also get a10% discount on all purchases when a member. Good luck to you.
Hi Jeremy M. Drafall - I recommend reaching out to the Stage 32 Success Team who can help you navigate John Anthony Murphy's excellent advice. Stage 32 has all of the resources and tools that you need. Here is they email address: success@stage32.com
Steve Cleary LOL. I don't think they mind, Steve. I have a year subscription to screenwriting staffing that I regret, because it's a complete waste of money during this strike. I do ISA too and still do get decent leads off of that. As a matter of fact, I submitted my screenplay to a lead on ISA today; but none of these three hold a candle to Stage 32, IMO. Stage 32 is by far the best screenwriting platform with unparalleled access to industry pros.
i mean, thats not really how it goes. And you cant sell anything during the strike anyway. But look up companies that do the type of project youre writing, write a great query letter or try to find a referral. you cant get into a studio or streamer, you need to find a production company that has a deal or works with them. But first, get professional NOTES to make sure your script is actually ready!
Ask for some advice here and look at similar titles on IMDb to see who bought them. You can go onto the company information page linked to a film on there. Just remember that not all movies are “bought” at the script stage.
If it was easy to sell scripts, everyone here would be in the money.
Spec scripts are generally writing samples to show employers you are hirable to write their ideas. Similar to actors doing audition tapes. Nobody pays for audition tapes/specs. If you can accept you wont sell a spec and still want to do this as an occupation, you're in a better headspace. GL!
