The UK Film Sector and the SAG-AFTRA Strike

This is an interesting read, but this is the thing which caught my eye:

Sarah Lebutsch, managing director of international sales at UK production company and sales agency Independent Entertainment, [said]

“For example we recently sent out a package to a UK actor, where the agent asked us to send a supporting document or letter to confirm none of the financiers that will come onto the project in the future will be AMPTP members. We had to include a side letter, that it will be financed outside of those parameters.

Is this what it sounds, or am I misreading it as a ban on AMPTP members in the future?

Lesa Babb Hi Lesa, I think I’ll post this on the site. It’s worth people know what other issues there are with the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes. This stood out for me:

“We’re trying to get producers to be recognized with the same benefits that everybody else has pretty much above or below the line,” Emery said. “As producers have become employees of AMPTP members, we have been left holding the bag. We have to abide by the negotiations that we have no say in, and we don’t get afforded the same pension, health care, and residuals that every other union is getting and fighting for a fair shake right now.”
