Screenwriting : Just introducing myself... by Wayne Turmel

Wayne Turmel

Just introducing myself...

HI all. I"m a former standup who has written 15 books but am returning to something I did in the early 90s, writing spec scripts. Currently, i'm working on the screenplay of the first novel in my Johnny Lycan: Werewolf PI series. Looking to get smarter and meet fellow ink-stained wretches.

Jim Boston

From a fellow former standup (1986-88): Wayne, welcome to Stage 32!

Glad you're here...and here's wishing you all the VERY BEST!

Michael Elliott

Jim...why only 2 years? I did the circuit for 12 (92-2004)

Debbie Elicksen

You are in the right place. I am confident the right person will show up in your feed at the right time. That's how this place rolls.

Peter Roach

A Werewolf Private Investigator? That is a whole different take. I could see that working. What if he has to close a case on a full moon?

Wayne Turmel

Well, peter, you'd have to either read the book or live long enough for the movie to get made

Maurice Vaughan

Welcome to Stage 32 and the Screenwriting Lounge, Wayne Turmel. How's your script coming along?

Jim Boston

Michael, I left standup work (and I was a part-timer at that) to accept a job offer that led me to move from Omaha, NE to Sioux City, IA: I got an offer to manage a used-record store.

At least running a store gave me a steady income. (Oh, well...)

Michael Elliott

My transition into a full-time comic resulted from a typical mid-life crisis. Instead of abandoning everything for a younger woman, I did it for the quiet of life on the road.

Wayne Turmel

Michael, my midlife crisis resulted in the first of my 6 novels. Writing The Count of the Sahara was way cheaper than a corvette or a cocktail waitress and the resulting divorce.

Ashley Renee Smith

Welcome, welcome, Wayne Turmel!
